About Laura

Google Teacher AcademyAfter teaching teaching middle school in Sonoma County, California since 1988, Laura is now her district’s Educational Technology Teacher on Special Assignment, supporting K-12 teachers and students with effective use of technology. Prior to 2022, she taught English language arts for 15 years, and then made the move to the electives department to create and teach digital design lab and co-create and teach a broadcast media program with Isaac Raya at Kenilworth Junior High School in Petaluma, California. She is a PBS Digital Innovator All-Star, Google for Education Certified Innovator, National Board Certified Teacher, Edutopia Facilitator, and a Bay Area Writing Project Teacher Consultant with an MA in Ed. Tech. In 2015, she was a first place winner of the Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation Teacher Innovator Award.
